This is a guide to the the letters Alert Readers sent me in 2010. Some letters are from past years. Ruth S, 2008: This and the next two make an interesting progression. Ruth S. is a young woman who has devoted her life to the Salvation Army, which conjures up a vision of a prim spinster with her hair in a bun. Ruth, however, has a pet snake and drinks bubble tea. She has at least one tattoo, as well. Her first letter is a simple list which counts her blessings. Ruth S, 2009: Ruth S.'s 2009 letter. This time Ruth used a "Multiple Choice" format. Ruth S, 2010: A letter formatted like the Milton Bradley board game, "LIFE". It is the most creative, elaborate theme I have seen in six years of collecting Christmas news letters. FAQ for 2010: An Alert Reader uses the ever-popular FAQ format, a fixture on many web sites, for her news letter. |
