Happy Holidays from the DFL (D---- Fantasy League)! Our family has recently adopted a new, yearly tradition that keeps us in synch no matter which time zone we call home. The DFL is the even playing field where younger brothers can dominate their elders and even mom is known to lay some lumber. See how the teams stack up with a recap of the 2006 Fantasy Draft.

Pick #1 - Brandon and Amy D----, aka "The Muchachos"
With the first pick in the draft, Brandon selected Amy Johnson, QB, Cedar Rapids, IA. (This pick was acquired via trade with Craig for one bedroom in Provo and cash consideration.) Ranked the #1 talent by Scout.com, Amy will bring the discipline this team has been lacking. Look for big things as they plan to relocate to a larger market this spring.

Pick #2 - Jason D----, aka "The Graduate"
With the second pick, Jason selected BYU. Coming off a successful high school career, Jason felt BYU had the best chance in taking his team to the next level. Also serving as League Commissioner, he's planning a two year sabbatical and is currently accepting applications for a temporary replacement.

Pick #3 - Lindsey, Danny, Anna, and Andrew F----, aka "BYU: Take Two"
With BYU off the board, the F----s selected their next best option, Provo, retaining a hold with San Marcos, CA and a third year option to return. In related news, Lindsey has elected to leave the DFL to pursue an exciting opportunity as Commissioner of the WMBA (Wives of MBAs), leaving the management of "BYU: Take Two" to Anna and Andrew.

Pick #4 - Craig D----, aka "Hey Ladies"
With the fourth pick, Craig selected to return home after serving an honorable mission in Singapore. After being away from the league for two seasons, Craig will have his hands full adapting to the new league rules and expansion players however, he's lucky to have so many other managers close by in Provo to lend a hand.

Pick #5 - Janet D----, aka "Relief Society Rocks"
During the off season, Janet made a difficult trade and retired from teaching music at local preschools. Her days of no responsibility didn't last long, because with the fifth pick in the draft, she selected the sisters of the Casper stake. We can't wait to see the stake production of "Super Brush and the Molars."

Pick #6 - Ashley and Erin Bowen, aka "Wii [love] Hotlanta"
With the sixth pick, the Bowens selected Christmas in Barcelona. The Bowens were excited this selection was still available so late in the draft and plan to use the trip to scout future selections.
[Ed. Note - "[love]" is a heart in the original, a character that doesn't show up properly across all browsers but works just fine on paper. my apologies.]

Pick #7 - Bob D----, aka "I'd rather be in Provo"
With the final pick in the first round, Bob selected Peyton Manning. Bob was disappointed to see his top two picks (BYU and Provo) off the board so early and is in negotiations with the Fellars to pick up Provo if they exercise their third year option with San Marcos, CA.

We truly appreciate the Holiday Season and the opportunity to reconnect with friends and family spread across the world. We wish the best to you and yours. Happy Holidays!

The D---- Family
