Right after high school I was injured in an automobile accident, took a year off for rehabilitation, then went to DVC and California State University, Hayward, where I ended up with a Master of Arts in Insect Ecology (Biological Control of Agricultural Pests).

I just recently retired (sort of) from the National Park Service - Yellowstone, Yosemite, Crater Lake, Everglades, etc. The principal office for all the NPS planning, design, and construction implementation is in Lakewood, Colorado (a suburb of Denver) and I spent 23 years here writing environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, and related park planning documents. I was also the Senior Handicap Accessibility Planner for the National Park Service and U.S. Department of the Interior from 1979 to 1985.

I've been married since 1968 and we now have two grandchildren.
